Adventures in WordPress Part 10

This week I got to explore the different features and reports available in Google Analytics and Search Console for WordPress sites! If you are unfamiliar with these platforms, it basically tracks pretty much everything you could possibly think of that can be tracked and measured about a website, from page visits to new users to tracking specific events like clicking through a link. One thing I learned about Analytics this week is that you can see activity in real time, down to within the last 30 minutes! It’s so impressive to me that these features can work so quickly and accurately for anyone who wants to use it.

I also finally felt ready to share my work so far on this site with my friends and family to track the activity they would create later in Google Analytics. Their opinions mean a lot to me, and I was delighted to hear they thought it looked very clean and professional! They did spot some issues— like a page that had a bad link to a nonexistent page, some image cropping issues and minor typos that I am glad was brought to my attention so I could fix them. Overall I feel really good going into the end of this semester and presenting my site to the rest of the world!
