Building this site and making it work with the theme and content that I had designed was a thrilling project! It’s been a labor of love for me over the last few years of school and I’ve had ample help from my parents, who also happen to be web designers. When I chose the domain “Danielle Digital” a few years ago I knew that my future was in digital marketing, and while I could try and get my own full name I like how this one rolls off the tongue. It could be a good brand for me one day!
I had to go through the whole ordeal of transferring my domain from their GoDaddy hosting to SiteGround for the sake of this course, but I think this will be the best option for me going forward. SiteGround made it easy to enable the privacy protections like SSL and HTTPS, so now my site is totally secure. I had already set up a login and credentials for my domain, so that was super easy to transfer, and it let me keep the same theme that I had used previously. I’ll consider changing up the theme to match the general purpose I have for this site, such as when I start seriously applying for internships in the summer, but for now I’m quite pleased with it!
